“Dan ini termasuk tanggung jawab bersama untuk menjaga stabilitas, perdamaian, serta kemakmuran,” ungkap Jokowi, saat berbicara pada sesi pleno KTT Khusus ASEAN-Australia di Melbourne, Australia, Rabu (6/3/2024). Sebagaimana ditulis pada akun Twitternya (X) @jokowi, Rabu 6/3/2024) pukul 11:24 WIB.
Jokowi menyebut, ASEAN berpopulasi lebih dari 650 juta orang yang sebagian besarnya adalah tenaga kerja muda dengan literasi teknologi yang tinggi, dan diprediksi akan menduduki peringkat ke-4 kekuatan ekonomi global pada 2040.
“Saya pun mendorong penguatan integrasi ekonomi, seperti melalui Strategi Ekonomi Asia Tenggara Australia 2040.
Investasi dan dukungan Australia di ASEAN juga penting dalam menghadapi perubahan iklim serta kerja sama bidang ekonomi digital.
ASEAN dan Australia berbagi masa depan yang sama dan harus menjadi motor penggerak untuk menciptakan kawasan Indo-Pasifik yang stabil, damai, dan sejahtera,” tutupnya. (*)
